BetOnline came under an aggressive cyber attack and was down for over 48 hours. The site was back up for Sunday afternoon NFL games.
BetOnline is considered to be the largest US-facing sports betting website.
The attack began shortly after Midnight Friday morning. Betting was not available via the site into Saturday night. However, Mason confirmed that “significant progress has been made”.
Dave Mason of BetOnline did note that some services were still unavailable heading into late Sunday afternoon.
Mason has also confirmed that all pending wagers are still valid. The week will likely count as a wash for all contests.
BetOnline also made it clear Sunday that all player balances and funds are 100% safe and secure.
It was still unclear as to the nature of the attack. Other popular websites such as Nook and STATS were also taken down in recent days and are still not functioning at 100 percent capacity.
