NFL betting tips
DAL Cowboys @ NY Giants
When the Dallas Cowboys (6-9) and New York Giants (5-10) meet at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, the winning team will keep its playoff hopes alive. Whoever wins, needs a Washington loss to clinch the NFC East and the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Cowboys are seeking their second division title in three years while the Giants would have their first playoff berth since 2016 and first division crown since 2011. Looking at this match-up, the Cowboys have averaged 36 points per game the last 3 weeks. Whereas the Giants have struggled to score – so on that basis, expect the Cowboys to find themselves on the cusp of a playoff berth.
Pick: Cowboys 7-12
MIA Dolphins @ BUF Bills
The Miami Dolphins (10-5) head to Buffalo to take on the Bills (12-3) who for the first time since 1995 have clinched the AFC East division title. Last week Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to give the NFL 1,372 touchdowns this season and break the single-season league record (1,371 touchdowns in 2018). Impressive right? Looking at this match-up, Miami needs a win to get in the playoffs so I can see this being an edge-of-seat-game. Expect it to be close and to go either way!
Pick: Dolphins 1-6, Bills 1-6
ATL Falcons @ TB Buccaneers
The Atlanta Falcons (4-11) travel to Raymond James stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-5) who clinched their first playoff berth since 2007. Right now, Brady is averaging 311.3 passing yards with 8 touchdowns and zero interceptions in his last 3 games. This game forms part of his warm-up in the playoff run so expect the Falcons to take another L in this game.
Pick: Buccaneers 1-6, 7-12
GB Packers @ CHI Bears
The Chicago Bears (8-7) can return to the playoffs with a home win over the Green Bay Packers (12-3). But the Packers are on a high having clinched the NFC North division title for the second-consecutive season. Right now, quarterback Aaron Rodgers leads with a 119.4 passer rating and in this game he has an opportunity to finish the season with one of the top three single-season passer ratings in NFL history. Both teams are clicking well, and the Bears have the home-field advantage but sadly this won’t be enough. Expect to be close, but for the Packers to take the victory.
Pick: Packers 1-6, 7-12
TEN Titans @ HOU Texans
The Tennessee Titans (10-5) head to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Texans (4-11). Titans running back Derrick Henry has 3,317 combined rushing yards from 2019-20. He also has the opportunity this week to register one of the top consecutive-season rushing totals in NFL history. Right now, the Titans still control their playoff destiny, but they need a victory against the Texans to get that. Who knows, JJ Watt’s impassioned speech last week at the press conference might fire up the team but either way it won’t quite be enough – Titans get the W.
Pick: Titans 7-12
SEA Seahawks @ SF 49ers
The Seattle Seahawks (11-4) who clinched the NFC West division title for the first time since 2016, take on the San Francisco 49ers (6-9). Their last game together saw the Seahawks taking the victory but this is a game they need to be careful of as I can see Beathard, Wilson and Kittle give their defense trouble. A game too tough to call and could honestly go either way.
Pick: Seahawks 1-6, 49ers 1-6
WAS Football Team @ PHI Eagles
The Washington Football Team (6-9) will need a victory against the Eagles (4-10-1) to clinch its first playoff berth and division title since 2015. There are some serious questions that put that at stake, the key being if Alex Smith is healthy enough to start? I’d love to see Washington win in this, just for Alex Smith but right now, it could go either way.
Pick: Washington 1-6, Eagles 1-6
